Greetings JATC members!
Following on the success of last year’s Valentine’s Day scenic drive and lunch in Jekyll Island, we have arranged a similar event this year. Jekyll Island is a beautiful state park located just south of Brunswick, GA and makes for a beautiful day trip or overnight getaway.
This year, the drive and lunch will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026. For those interested in the scenic drive, we plan to meet at 10:30 AM in Willie Jewell’s parking lot on the corner of Highway 17 and State Road 200 in Yulee, FL. From there, we will begin our memorable drive on Highway 17—a road less traveled, making it the preferred, comfortably paced route up to Jekyll Island.
The destination of this beautiful drive will be the Grand Dining Room at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. We have previously dined at this iconic restaurant and resort on previous Valentine’s Day outings and we’re certain the venue will be no less pleasing than before. The dining room features an outstanding selection of dishes, served buffet style, so make sure to bring your appetite as you don’t want to miss out on great options like seafood, pastries, charcuterie, omelets, and much more.
Our reservation is at noon (12:00 PM) and the scenic drive takes around 70 minutes total, meaning we plan to leave Yulee promptly by 10:30. This will allow us to make a short rest stop at a gas station near the intersection of Highway 17 and i95. The final meeting point will be at the Jekyll Island Club Resort itself. Please note that Jekyll Island is a state park and as such, there is a $10 parking fee which you will pay at the gate. The gate accepts both cash and card for your convenience.
